1971 Ford Mustang Coupe for Just $600

On the NoNonsenseKnowHow YouTube channel, the team picks up a 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe for just $600, barely more than scrap value. Equipped with a desirable 351 Cleveland V8 and a four speed manual transmission, the forgotten Mustang looks like a promising rescue before its true condition is revealed.

Those hopes quickly fade once the inspection begins. Years of sitting outside left the body with severe structural rust, while corrosion inside the engine seized multiple cylinders.

Attempts to free the engine revealed an even bigger problem when several exhaust valves broke, confirming that the 351 Cleveland could not be started without a complete rebuild.

Despite years of neglect, the 351 Cleveland V8 remains complete inside the 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe.

Instead of forcing an unrealistic restoration, the creator salvages the Mustang’s most valuable components before passing the car on to another enthusiast.

Although this 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe could not be brought back to life, its rare 351 Cleveland parts, four speed transmission, and other performance components will help keep other classic Mustangs on the road.
